Viviamo una situazione paradossale: mentre i Paesi a noi vicino, attanagliati dal virus, si apprestano a riproporre il lockdown, che a casa nostra abbiamo vissuto con tanto malessere, e noi nel contempo siamo in una situazione in cui i disagi sono veramente poca cosa, assistiamo a esagitate manifestazioni di No Vax che mettono tutto in discussione. Ha senso?
Ora siamo alla terza vaccinazione e i mezzi di comunicazione si sforzano di convincere la popolazione ad aderirvi; il giorno stesso in cui sono trascorsi sei mesi da quando ho ricevuto la seconda dose, sono andato sul sito della Regione Lombardia per prenotarmi la terza. Le proposte erano in provincia di Pavia, a Stradella, Lecco; per me che abito a Milano non certamente comode. Allora ho chiamato il numero indicato per chiedere se non fosse possibile vaccinarsi in città (non siamo nel Sahara o in cima all’Himalaya, parliamo di Milano) e la risposta dell’operatore (molto gentile, non sembrava neanche di parlare con un funzionario di un ente pubblico) è stata che aspettavano indicazioni, le quali sicuramente sarebbero arrivate nei giorni successivi, con la riapertura dei centri in città. Ma, anche qui, forse non c’è bisogno di un generale se si continua a insistere per vaccinarsi e poi chi vuole farlo è dissuaso, perché non si sono attivate tempestivamente le strutture necessarie …..
Niente di nuovo sotto i raggi del sole, è il nostro Paese, siamo abituati a queste contraddizioni e, si dovrebbe dire “siamo vaccinati”, ma non possiamo neanche dirlo, o almeno non io…
Ad ogni modo guardiamo avanti con ottimismo e, se in questo numero parliamo di tecnologia, è perché oltre ai vaccini questa può essere, favorendo il distanziamento nella vita sociale, una delle chiavi di ritorno alla normalità.

We have now come to the third round of vaccinations, and the media are striving to convince the population to adhere to the campaign; on the same day when six months had elapsed from my second dose, I accessed the website of Regione Lombardia to book the third vaccine dose. The locations proposed were in the province of Pavia, in Stradella, Lecco; They were obviously inconvenient for me, as I live in Milan. So I called the phone number provided to find out whether it would be possible to be vaccinated in town (we are not in the Sahara or on top of the Himalaya, we are talking about Milan) and the operator (extremely kind and friendly for being a public servant) answered that they were waiting for instructions, which they would be receiving in the following days, as the vaccination hubs in town reopened. But one wonders if we really need a general, when there is so much insistence on vaccination, and then people are discouraged by the fact that the necessary facilities have not been timely activated.
There is nothing new under the sun; this is our country, we are used to such contradictions, and we could say we are “vaccinated” against them, but we cannot help but mention them, or at least I can’t.
In any way, we are looking ahead with optimism, and if we talk about technology in this issue, it is because, in addition to vaccines, this can favour social distancing and thus be a key to our return to normality.
