RESTAURANT MANAGER

Main purpose:
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient running and profitability of the restaurant according to our standards and procedures, in order to provide an exceptional culinary experience to our Guests. He/she is a foody and never stops to develop his/her knowledge about gastronomy. She/he is passionate and generous and a strong team player.
Reports to: F&B Manager.
Main duties and responsibilities:
• Responsible for ensuring a tailor made culinary experience and satisfaction of Guests according to our standards and procedures;
• Ensure that restaurant team work according to our standards and procedures;
• Oversee the Restaurant service supporting the Maître when needed;
• Create and maintain a professional and personalised relationship with Guests, handling comments and complaints;
• Create and maintain a professional relationship with colleagues and other departments;
• Able and willing to motivate the team to obtain guest satisfaction;
• Accomplish restaurant human resource objectives by orienting, training, scheduling, coaching, counselling and disciplining employees and staff rotas. Involved in recruitment and selection process;
• Responsible for Restaurant financial goals, budget control, inventory, stock level and cost control;
• Cooperate with F&B Manager organising events in the Resort (e.g. banquets, weddings).

• Communication & personal effectiveness: communicate effectively and in an appropriate manner, using the most suitable channel and tailoring the approach to the audience. He/she takes ownership to initiate communication. He/she shares information across the business in a timely manner to inform better decisions. Self-awareness and self-control are a must. Set clear goals and expectations and identify clear priorities. Meet deadlines and complete tasks and projects successfully.
• Self & team developer: enthusiastic supporter of learning and development. Inspire and motivate others to achieve superior performance and to take on new learning opportunities. Discuss, plan, track and support own and team development and professional growth.
• Business orientation: Create an understanding amongst the team of how department performance impacts the business. Create action plans to improve performance when not meeting company requirements. Use understanding of the business to identify ways to increase revenue, reduce costs and minimise general expenses without affecting the quality of service to Guests.
• Technical Skills: Demonstrate technical and leadership competencies and knowledge related to the role. Look for Guest’s feedback and use it to improve service. Identify issues and solve them promptly and properly.

We require:
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar role in 5 stars hotels and/or well-known restaurants preferably at international level;
• English knowledge at Advanced level;
• Knowledge of F&B management software (e.g. Quadranet);
• Certificate as Professional Sommelier and/ or gastronomy studies preferred;
• Preferable evidence of self-development through specialized courses, conferences/workshops;
• Valid HACCP certification;
• Previous experience as trainer is a plus.
