As the Food & Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Orient Express La Dolce Vita train’s food and beverage operations. This key leadership role involves strategic planning, staff management, menu development, and maintaining exceptional service standards. The successful candidate will have a passion for culinary excellence, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering a world-class dining experience.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management:

•                 Lead and inspire the food and beverage team to deliver exceptional service and uphold the train’s standards of excellence

•                 Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure a highly skilled and motivated team

•                 Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement

•                 Set performance expectations and conduct regular performance evaluations.

 

Operational Excellence:

•                 Oversee day-to-day food and beverage operations, including restaurant, bars and cabin services

•                 Monitor and manage inventory, procurement, and cost control measures to maximize profitability

•                 Implement and enforce health and safety standards to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment

 

Guest Satisfaction:

•                 Strive for excellence in guest satisfaction by consistently delivering high-quality food and beverage services

•                 Address guest feedback and concerns promptly, implementing corrective measures when necessary

•                 Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience

 

Menu Development and Innovation:

•                 Work closely with the cookery team to create innovative and enticing menus that reflect current culinary trends and meet the expectations of our demanding clients

•                 Regularly review and update menus to maintain a fresh and dynamic dining experience

 

Financial Management:

•                 Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and revenue targets for the food and beverage department

•                 Analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-effective measures

 

Qualifications

Experience& certifications:

•                 Proven experience in a similar role within the luxury hospitality industry

 

•                 In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning and costing

•                 Familiarity with industry trends, customer preferences, and compliance with health and safety regulations

•                 Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.

Skills:

•                 Strong leadership and team management skills

•                 Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

•                 Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus              

Flexibility:

•                 Availability to work on shifts and on weekends.
