Viviamo in un Paese strano, dove talora si perde il buonsenso.
Ci troviamo dinnanzi a situazioni surreali, che sarebbero comiche se non fossero preoccupanti, indice di una confusione assoluta.
Ormai è nota la telenovela dei Commissari alla sanità in Calabria. Se fossi un imbonitore direi: non uno, non due, ma ben tre sono i Commissari che in poco tempo si sono attrezzati per occupare quella posizione senza dare seguito; situazione bizzarra da noi dove generalmente pur di conquistare una poltrona si farebbero carte false (come talvolta avviene!).
Alberico Evani, sostituto di Roberto Mancini, allenatore della squadra di calcio dell’Italia, prima della partita con la Bosnia ha ripetutamente affermato nel corso di alcune interviste: “Dopo aver fatto tanti sacrifici, sarebbe brutto non chiudere primi”. Ecco, il brutto non sarebbe stato tanto quello di non chiudere primi ma quello di considerare in questo momento “tanti sacrifici” ciò che hanno fatto i calciatori, che comunque vivono un’esistenza privilegiata, curati e assistiti e, in momenti in cui molti italiani soffrono tra disoccupazione e cassa integrazione miserrima (ultime stime Censis cinque milioni di italiani senza pasti regolari), guadagnano cifre che, per un giocatore arrivato alla nazionale, valgono all’anno centinaia di migliaia di euro, se non milioni. Allora, dov’è il sacrificio? È quello del portiere di notte che ha dimenticato cosa vuol dire dormire nel proprio letto, quello dell’imprenditore che non sa come uscire da questa tenaglia, quello del direttore che deve conciliare con la propria coscienza la gestione delle persone, delle attività, sempre con attenzione ai conti, che difficilmente quadrano, quello dei tanti che in albergo si alzano all’alba per fare in modo che i clienti di prima mattina trovino tutto a posto. Questi e quelli di tante altre persone sono i sacrifici e, anche se capisco che le affermazioni di Evani siano state dettate dal desiderio di essere da sprone, vengono lette con disagio da chi invece non riesce più a riconoscere e conciliare la propria esistenza precedente.
Parlo perché non mi piace il gioco del calcio? Niente affatto, e la riprova è che sono abbonato alle partite sia a Sky sia a Dazn; la realtà è che, soprattutto in questo momento, anche per rispetto a coloro che soffrono, è necessario equilibrio e sensibilità.

In hawker’s speaking, it would be: not one, not two, but three commissioners got ready to occupy that position in a short time, without following up on it. A bizarre situation in our country, where people would generally get to any lengths to conquer a seat, sometimes with little scruples.
Before the soccer match with Bosnia, Alberico Evani, the deputy of Roberto Mancini, who is the head coach of the Italian soccer team, repeatedly stated during interviews: “After making so many sacrifices, it would be ugly not to be the winners”. Well, I believe losing a match would not have been so ugly, in this period, as the fact of regarding as “so many sacrifices” those made by soccer players, who live a privileged life, well looked after and assisted, at a time when many Italians suffer from unemployment and scant furlough benefits (according to the latest Censis estimates, five million Italians have trouble putting a meal on the table), while they earn amounts that – for a national team player – may be in the range of hundreds of thousands Euro a year, if not millions. So, where is the sacrifice? Ask the hotel porter, who has forgotten what it means to sleep in his own bed, the entrepreneur who doesn’t know how to get out of this impasse, the manager who must reconcile the management of resources and activities with his or her own conscience, constantly keeping an eye on the numbers which hardly ever tally, the many who get up at dawn in a hotel, so that guests can find everything in order in early morning. These are sacrifices, like those of many others, and even if I understand that Evani’s words were meant to act as a spur, they are still read with unease by those who can no longer recognise and reconcile their previous existences.
Am I saying this because I don’t like soccer? Not at all, as proven by the fact that I am both a Sky and a Dazn subscriber. The point is that, especially in this period, also out of respect for those who are suffering, it is necessary to preserve balance and sensitivity.
