Sikelia Luxury Retreat, boutique 5 star luxury resort in Pantelleria, Sicily (www.sikeliapantelleria.com) is looking for the positions below for the 2018 summer season.

Maitre – Reference code: MS2018

We require:
• Professional knowledge of Italian cuisine and Italian & International wines;
• Exceptional customer service skills;
• Professional experience within the same role in luxury hotel or restaurant;
• References;
• Languages: Fluent English and Italian, third language preferred;
• Work Permit required. Documented evidence will be requested as part of the recruitment process.

Main duties
• Responsible for Restaurant/Bar/Room Service/Banqueting/events/wine orders;
• Inventory and requisitions: assist in monitoring stock levels and ordering replacement deliveries. Avoid any waste and capability to control beverage margins;
• Cooperate with Hotel Manager for staff development and to develop special wine & food events.

Responsibilities:
• Anticipate guest needs and handle guest complaints, providing an excellent and personalized experience according to our service standards;
• Maintain a professional relationship with guests and colleagues;
• Continuous professional development of self and others;
• Be able to advise best selling prices and keen to regularly review them according to top managment instructions;
• Compliance with health and safety regulations.

Due to the various outdoor activities the resort offers to its guests, the working place may vary from the Resort itself still remaining within the perimeter of the island.

Bartender – Reference code: BT2018

Job brief
We are looking for an enthusiastic bartender to provide an excellent guest drinking experience. Good bartenders will be able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding customers’ needs and expectations.

We require:
• Resumè and proven working experience as a bartender;
• Relevant training certificates;
• Mixilogy knowledge and skills;
• Exceptional customer service skills;
• Excellent knowledge in mixing, garnishing and serving drink;
• Computer literacy;
• References;
• Languages: Fluent English and Italian, third language preferred;
• Work Permit required. Documented evidence will be requested as part of the recruitment process.

Main duties & Responsibilites:
• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons;
• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails;
• Plan and present bar menu;
• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean;
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks;
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills;
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience;
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations;
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies;
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations;
• Check customers’ identification and confirm that they meet the legal drinking age requirements.
