Located in the heart of Tuscany, Borgo Santo Pietro is a five-star, 200-acre boutique hotel and estate with a 'farm to plate' philosophy. It features an organically cultivated working farm, 13 acres of garden, including culinary gardens, an artisan cheese dairy and vineyards. The estate produces fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, eggs, raw honey, cheese and 0km meat for its two Michelin-starred restaurants, trattoria and bar, and hotel breakfast buffet.
We are looking for an experienced, dedicated Culinary Gardener with excellent knowledge and practical understanding of organic cultivation to join our team.
The role is responsible for managing the schedules and production of organic fruit, vegetables, nuts, herbs and edible flowers grown for the company. It requires sound practical knowledge of organic cultivation and several years' professional experience in the field. The role also requires excellent attention to detail and the maintenance of five-star standards.
We are looking for a committed and hands-on team member who collaborates effectively with kitchen, farm and garden staff, is able to multi-task, and takes responsibility for unexpected situations when they arise. You need to be highly organised and physically fit, reasonably fluent in English and Italian, and possess the necessary papers to work in Italy. Italian lessons will be provided as part of your role if necessary.
• Supervising the planting schedules of and cultivating 4000 square metres of culinary gardens (with plans to expand);
• Collaborating with Michelin-starred chefs to plant and grow ingredients as part of the estate's 'farm to plate' philosophy.
