Hilton Amsterdam is a 5 star property with 271 hotel rooms, 21 banquet rooms, authentic Italian restaurant and a nautical style bar at a unique location. Famous for John Lennon and Yoko Ono's 1969 ‘bed-in for peace' and Hilton's first hotel in the Netherlands. The iconic hotel is built on the baseline of Plan Zuid, a district designed by prominent architect Berlage, which highlights the Amsterdam School of architecture and contains boutiques, designer shops and couture houses.
Located in the heart of the hotel is one main kitchen that serves all of our Food and Beverage outlets; Roberto’s, Half Moon Lounge & Garden Terrace, Room Service and Issimo.

For our a la carte kitchen we are looking for a passionate, representative, innovative and inspirational Senior Sous Chef, who has exceptional product knowledge and is always looking for ways to improve himself and his team. As a Senior Sous Chef you will carry out the following tasks to the highest standards:
• Creating menu’s together with the Executive Chef
• Leading the a la carte team during service for our outlets; Roberto’s, Half Moon Lounge and Garden Terrace, Room Service and Issimo
• Coaching and developing the team
• Ordering products in a sustainable way, by keeping food cost and minimum food waste in mind
• Performing under pressure
• Complying with the HACCP standards in a strict and disciplinary way.
Required skills and competences
Our ideal candidate is passionate about fine dining and the Italian Cuisine and has the following skills and competences:
• A minimum of two years’ experience as a Sous Chef within a similar environment
• Excellent knowledge of Italian cuisine
• Experience with high volume banqueting
• Flexible and cooperative
• Excellent planning skills
• Fluent in English and preferably in Dutch. Knowledge of Italian language would be much appreciated.
